Exactly 90 years ago, Valery Urin, a former forward for Dynamo Moscow and two-time USSR champion, was born
Valery Grigoryevich was born in Sverdlovsk, and his football career took shape in Kirov, where he played for the local clubs Pishchevik and Dynamo. In 1956, he moved to Dynamo Moscow, where in six years he scored 20 goals in 72 matches. He helped the blue-whites become champions of the USSR twice and was included in the list of 33 best players of the season twice. For the USSR national teams, he played 4 matches.
Urin was known for his incredible speed and coordination, had an excellent shot, but was always ready to make an accurate pass to a teammate if they were in a better position
After leaving Dynamo, Urin played for Belarusian, Latvian and other Soviet teams. After finishing his career in 1968, he worked as a coach at Dynamo Makhachkala, Avtomobilist Krasnoyarsk and Torpedo Vladimir. Later he worked at children's football schools in Moscow.
