During the press conference, which took place at BetBoom House Dynamo as part of the Dynamo: Future 2029 event (https://fcdm.ru/news/meropriiatie-dynamo-budushhee-2029-proslo-v-betboom-dome-dynamo/), the Brazilian newcomer of the blue-whites Arthur Gomes answered journalists' questions
Dynamo is a very well-known club in Brazil. That's why I was so excited when the first negotiations started. Now, after arriving in Russia, I feel a warm welcome. I have a huge desire to play for the team, fight, score goals, make assists, and help my new club win awards.
Did you know Bitello? Surely, you talked with him a lot before the transfer. What did he tell you about the team? Traditionally, we ask every Brazilian: "Aren't you afraid of the cold?"
Bitello told me a lot about Russia. We talked for a month before I came here. He assured me that there was nothing to be afraid of. Dynamo has a cool team, great players, kind people, and an excellent coach. I wasn't afraid to go to Russia at all. On the contrary, I felt inspired.
Without Bitello#'s stories about the country and the club, I would hardly have decided on such a radical move. It's very far away, the other end of the world. And my journey was very long. As for the cold, I don't know yet. I've never felt severe cold. I hope I can tolerate it normally. Let's see!
— What are your plans for learning Russian? Maybe you've already started learning it?
— Of course, the Russian language is very difficult. I will try to do everything in my power to start speaking Russian as soon as possible. But as you can see, I'm doing great! I have learned so many words and expressions! "Good day", "hello", "how are you?" It's going well.
— What position were you recruited for? Have you talked about this with the head coach yet?
— We only talked with the coach about training. My position on the field has not been determined yet. In principle, I can close any position in attack.
— You have extensive experience playing in Brazil, you also played for the country's youth team (5 matches - 1 goal). Why didn't you manage to get into older national teams?
— I had a good career in Brazil. Now I don't plan to play there. All my focus is on Dynamo. This is a big leap in my career. I expect to improve my skills and grow here.
— Which club is more popular in Brazil: Dynamo or Zenit?
— Of course, Zenit is slightly more known in my country for obvious reasons - there are much more Brazilian players playing there, who are followed. And Dynamo is a big club known throughout the world. Being here, I see the scale and grandeur of my new club. I am happy to be here
— Have you made any friends in the team yet?
— As you already know, I knew Bitello before moving to Russia. Due to the language barrier, I communicate more with those guys who speak English. Right now I'm actively studying both English and Russian so that I can be able to communicate and joke with everyone. On the field, we all speak football language. It is the same all over the world.
— Many people watched the club video on the Internet, where you invited fans to the game against Akhmat. What other clubs from Russia do you know?
— In Russia, besides Dynamo and Zenit mentioned earlier, I know CSKA, Spartak, Krasnodar and now Akhmat. These are strong clubs. There will be difficult and interesting matches with all these teams. Scoring against them would be very cool!
— What are your strengths? Is scoring goals one of them?
— I don't really like talking about statistics. I believe that football is not just numbers. Among my main qualities, I note dribbling and the ability to outplay an opponent. Also, I want to score goals and make assists more often
— Are you familiar with Arthur from Zenit? Is there any motivation to prove that there should be only one Arthur in the Russian Premier League — from Dynamo?
— We've known each other since the times when I played for the Brazilian national team. I wish him good luck and success in his Russian career
