Fabian Balbuena joins Dynamo

Paraguayan centre-back Fabián Balbuena inked 4-year contract with Dynamo.

The 29-year-old joined the Moscow club as a free agent.

Balbuena is born in Ciudad del Este which is the second largest city in Paraguay. He played in South America until the age of 26. Fabián performed for Paraguayan sides Cerro Porteño de Presidente Franco, Rubio Ñú, Nacional Asunción and Libertad Asunción. Then he departed his home country for one of the leaders of Brazilian football Corinthians, where Balbuena won the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A and twice the Campeonato Paulista.

The Paraguayan centre-back had a three-year spell at the English club West Ham United. Fabián made 14 appearances for the national team of Paraguay.

— I am happy to sign a contract with Dynamo and I am looking forward to start working with my new teammates and the coaching staff, — Balbuena said. — I chose Dynamo because I really liked the project of the club's development. In addition, Dynamo will celebrate the 100th anniversary soon — it's great to have a hand in such a history.
