Dynamo beat Rubin thanks to goals from Fomin and Grulyov

The encounter of the RPL ninth round that was held at the VTB Arena ended in a 2:0 victory.

Sandro Schwarz decided to keep unchanged the winning squad that had forged an important win over Sochi. Balbuena, Grulyov, Zakharyan and Szymanski returned to the starting eleven after a short rest spell in Stavropol. Leonid Slutsky, who was missing the encounter due to disqualification, was also able to field the strongest players.

At the beginning of the match there were a lot of tackles, that Dynamo won more often. In the 23rd minute, the first corner kick performed by the White-Blues didn’t slightly lead to a goal. Dyupin made a save after Balbuena’s attempt from several meters.

Dynamo gradually increased the pace and converted their advantage into a goal in the 32nd minute. The club’s top scorer Daniil Fomin opened the score by a fine header after Varela’s marvelous cross – 1:0.

The Moscow side excelled by the end of the first half. The shots from distance rained down the Kazan goal. However, the visitors’ goalkeeper stayed cold-blooded. Rubin players repulsed the offensive and went to the dressing room keeping their chances.

After the interval Rubin tried the luck by Samoshnikov and Khvaratskhelia’s long-range strikes. But this was not enough to come from behind. In their turn, in the 59th minute, the White-Blues doubled the lead. Vyacheslav Grulyov rose to turn another header inside the far post from Sebastian Szymanski's sweeping cross – 2:0.

The hosts eased pressure only in the last fifteen minutes, and Leshchuk had to save the team after dangerous long-range strikes by Bakayev and Dreyer. The Kazan captain Uremović even managed to score, but the ball crossed the line when flying.

Dynamo earned 19 points and became second in the table. In the next round, the Moscow side will face Krylia Sovetov at home on October 2.
