The encounter of the Fonbet Russian Cup group stage second round that was held at VTB Arena ended in a 2:1 win for the hosts.
Slavisa Jokanovic made a massive rotation and fielded ten new players in the Cup second round match. All newcomers excluding Nicholas Marichal started the game. Diego Laxalt recovered from injury and saw his name in the team list. The formation has been changed to 4-4-2. Yaroslav Gladyshev and Fedor Smolov formed an attacking tandem.
Dynamo centre-forward who wore the captain's armband for the 100th time opened the score on the 10th minute. A vertical build-up ended with Smolov's accurate shot past the goalkeeper. In the similar episode that came further Smolov assisted on Ngamaleu who couldn't beat Mikhail Oparin.
The visitors equalised unexpectedly. Ivan Oleynikov dragged the ball through the penalty area and rolled it into the left bottom corner. Then, Dynamo joker Mathias Normann got an injury and had to leave the pitch accompanied by the club's doctors.
These sad episodes didn't cut the ground for the hosts. Smolov could make a brace and then he started an attack assisting on Lesovoy. The number 11 sent Gladyshev one-on-one with the goalkeeper and the talented youngster put Dynamo ahead. By the end of the first half Smolov and Ngamaleu were close to develop the advantage, but Oparin looked solid.
After the break both sides decided on substitutions fielding new forces into the game. The White-Blues' fans witnessed Konstantin Tyukavin and Dmitry Skopintsev's appearances. The latter started interplaying with Lesovoy on the left wing.
Dynamo players controlled the game and could even score more — Tyukavin, Gladyshev and Ngamaleu were active ahead. Aleksandr Kutitsky fired into the post with his long-range strike. On their side of the pitch the hosts played calmly. Even after Bernard Berisha and Gamid Agalarov's appearances Akhmat made less efforts for an equaliser. The last chance came to Oleynikov whose shot was turned away by Leshchuk.
After this victory the White-Blues levelled with Akhmat on points (3). In the next Cup encounter our team will face Orenburg on the road in the late September. The next RPL challenge for Dynamo is scheduled for upcoming Saturday. It will be an important and tough clash against Zenit.
