Sandro Schwarz: The team did the best, but luck was on the other side

— I would like to congratulate the CSKA coach on the win. In the first half, we were very disciplined and attentive in defense. We did not allow the opponent to create chances, and ran out well in counterattacks. In the first 20 minutes of the second half, we controlled the game, played aggressively and created very good chances. Unfortunately, we conceded, then there were opportunities to equalize, but we didn't manage to do it. Of course, we are upset, but I am satisfied with the play quality.

— Dynamo took a lot of set pieces. Why was there little danger to Igor Akinfeyev's goal?

— Today we constantly lacked something – the final touch or finishing. Luck turned its back on Kostya Tyukavin when he hit the post. There are days when luck is not your ally. Today it took the opposite side. I want to note that we faced a strong team.

— Why did the team have such troubles when conceding the goal?

— I would like to express my gratitude to the team for this tough game. Our players showed themselves well. When we conceded a goal, we had to come from behind. We went ahead, but missed counterattacks from time to time. And given the skills of the CSKA players, these runs could have led to a goal. It's absolutely normal when you play against such a skillful opponent.

— Is it right to say that the team lacked emotions in the first half after an intense Russian Cup match?

— Obviously, there are aspects that we can improve in our play. At the same time, we must pay tribute to our rival. CSKA have strengthened their squad seriously during the winter break. There are many skillful players in the team. We showed good football throughout the entire match.

— When Konstantin Tyukavin and Vyacheslav Grulev came out as substitutes, there was more threat to CSKA goal. Why didn't you field them earlier?

— We initially played 4-3-3. Then we decided to field Tyukavin and Grulev and switched to a formation with three centre-backs and two centre-forwards. I think we did well in both formations.

— If we talk about the Premier League title, this defeat lowered your chances. Do you believe that Dynamo can still be ahead of Zenit?

— We don't bother our heads with thoughts of the Premier League title. We put the play quality at the forefront. Today, the team did its best against a strong opponent. Right now we are thinking about our next rival.

If they had said at the beginning of the season that Dynamo would be second by the end, many people would not have believed it. But the play quality and the results show that we are on the right track. We will continue to follow it.

— Diego Laxalt plays great on the left wing, and Dmitry Skopintsev remains on bench because of it. Don't you want to try him in some other position?

— Every time I have to make a difficult choice when naming the starting line-up. Diego Laxalt performs well. And we all know how skillful Dmitry Skopintsev is. He can also play in attack. It is important to have such competition in the team. We always make a choice about the starting line-up based on the weekly training cycle.

— How serious is Daniil Lesovoy's injury?

— I don't know how serious his injury is. I can only say that he has an ankle problem.

— There are a lot of rumors around your future. Can you provide some clarity?

— We are now paying all our attention to the current process. We live from day to day. And we are fully focused on the next match on Saturday.
