Sandro Schwarz: We don't want to focus on interim achievements

# Sandro Schwarz

Dynamo Head Coach Sandro Schwarz answered journalists' questions after the match against Ural (1:0).

— We controlled both territory and play throughout the match. The red card shown to the Ural player strengthened our advantage even more. We created a lot of chances and completely controlled the match. We needed only to score the second goal to calm the game down. I am glad that we did not allow Ural to create many goalscoring chances and kept a clean sheet. I am happy with the victory and three points earned.

— Your team should have scored much more. What can you say about the finishing?

— Yes, we could have scored more today. Probably, luck was not on our side — we hit the post and the crossbar. We must also pay tribute to the Ural goalkeeper, who showed himself quite well. Finishing is something that we still work on and improve in our game.

— Are there any methods of training the finishing, or it is more a matter of skills and concentration of the players?

— Of course, it can be trained. But in order to finish, you need to create chances, and we succeeded in it today. Every week we work on this aspect and improve it. Many factors play a role in finishing — it includes composure, skills, and luck.

— How much did the red card influence on the match?

— Of course, the red card influenced on the game. I said that Russian Premier League referees have a tendency to show a large number of cards. Unfortunately, teams often finish the encounters ten-man.

— What strong points could you mention at Ural?

— The team showed their best qualities against Spartak last week. They demonstrated good football, created quite a lot of chances. Somewhere they were unlucky. The Ural team are combative, so I'm glad that we earned three points in the game against such an opponent.

— Can you comment on the substitutions that you made today?

— If we talk about Skopintsev, he came out playing as a left winger. We know that he acts great in one-on-one situations. Laxalt received a yellow card in the first half, and Dmitry had to help him if necessary. We replaced Tyukavin for Grulyov by position. Vyacheslav is a very strong player — we needed him at that moment. We fielded Clinton at the very end, because we wanted to use his high speed in counterattacks.

— Today, Denis Makarov felt not quite at ease. How long will it take for him to adapt?

— This is a normal situation. Any player in such a situation needs time to settle down. Training cycles and games help reach it. So we need to be patient. He had good chances today.

— Do your team have any ambitions to get into the Champions League at the end of the season?

— Now we are not getting ahead of ourselves and we are not talking about European cups. We need to move forward steadily. Tomorrow we will have a recovery training session, after which we will start preparations for the derby against Lokomotiv.

— Will the match against Lokomotiv be fundamentally different from today's encounter?

— It will be a completely different game. It will be challenging and intense with fast play. We know that we will not have such a large percentage of ball possession as today.

— Do the team now show the game that you ideally want to see?

— There are aspects that can be improved. We don't want to focus on interim achievements. We need to improve our game when possessing the ball. We are working on it and we want to get better. We have a fairly young team, and this fact requires time and patience.
