He was one of the top defenders of the 1950s. He was one of the key players, thanks to whom Dynamo had the most reliable defense in those years. He was nicknamed the "Flying Defender" for his acrobatic playing style.
He did excellent tackles, played masterfully with his head, and often hit balls in jumps and falls. Excellent technique was combined with high reliability and correct decisions on the field. He had never avoided a tough fight and fought to the end in duels.
After completing his football career, he remained in the club's system and was engaged in coaching activities at the level of children's and youth football.
