One of the leading players of the team in the 1960s, who led the defense. In addition to defensive actions, he was also effective in attack. For example, he scored the decisive goal in the 1967 USSR Cup final.
In addition to his excellent positional play, he was distinguished by his inimitable personal care, thanks to which he cut off the most dangerous attacking opponents from the rest of the team. He played superbly with his head and had perfect control of the tackle, which often made it difficult for the ball to move towards his own goal.
After finishing playing as a football player, he worked in the office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, while simultaneously working on youth teams as a coach.
From May 1964 to June 1968, he played for the USSR national team, played 20 matches, scored one goal.
