The legendary Dynamo and USSR national team goalkeeper was born on October 22, 1929 in Moscow.
He played for Dynamo since 1950 till 1970 making 358 official appearances and leading the club to 5 national titles and 3 Soviet Cups.
As a part of the Soviet national team Yashin triumphed at the 1956 Olympics and 1960 European Nations' Cup. He was named best goalkeeper of the XX century by IFFHS, World Soccer, France Football and Placar. Yashin is still the only goalkeeper who has won the Golden Ball.
