On Saturday, April 27, the famous defender of the white-and-blues, Alexander Tochilin, turns 50 years old.

Alexander was born in Moscow and is a graduate of the youth sports school of the Timiryazevsky district of the capital. He began his career in professional football at "Asmaral", which was then led by the legendary Konstantin Beskov. In 1995, Tochilin moved to "Dynamo".

The talented defender made his debut in the April quarterfinal of the Russian Cup against "Lokomotiv", and just two months later won the trophy with the team, playing the entire final match against "Rotor".

Tochilin always fulfilled the game plan, possessed good technique and speed, which made him effective when joining the attacks. One of the most beautiful goals of the blue-and-white team at the beginning of the century belongs to him. In October 2005, in a match against "Alania", he started his slalom run from his own half of the field, dribbled past several opposing players, entered the penalty area, and precisely shot low into the far corner.

The hardworking and enduring defender was second to none in combat and rightfully played more than fifty matches wearing the captain's armband. Over 14 seasons, he accumulated 281 matches (13th place in the history of "Dynamo") and 7 goals. In addition to the Cup, he twice became the bronze medalist of the Russian championship – in 1997 and in 2008. The farewell match at the "Dynamo" stadium, which was closing for reconstruction, was also the last in Tochilin's career at the age of 34.

After that, he spent several years working at the club academy of the white-and-blues, and in 2015 he took over the St. Petersburg "Dynamo", which subsequently moved to Sochi. Over several years, Tochilin led the team from the Second Division to the Premier League, where they debuted in 2019. Later, he managed "Olimp-Dolgoprudny", "Kuban" and returned to "Sochi", from which he parted ways in December last year.

We congratulate Alexander Vasilievich on his anniversary and wish him good health, family happiness, and professional success!
