Dynamo goalkeeper Anton Shunin shared his emotions from the winning game against Baltika (2:0), in which he made his 350th appearance for the club and kept the hundredth clean sheet in the RPL.
— You showed a charismatic play and saved the team a lot. Did today's anniversary match add motivation to you?
— Honestly speaking, I didn't even know that today was my 350th match for Dynamo. There were more talks about the hundredth clean sheet in the RPL. It was more important for me to get into Lev Yashin's Club. I didn't think about it. I was just preparing for the game, as always. We discussed with Dmitry Izotov the fact that it was important to play as concentrated as possible and keep the clean sheet. Everything went well and I am happy now.
— How did you congratulate Stanislav Bessmertnyi on his first goal at Dynamo? Did you like his play?
— He still needs to work on some aspects. After the first half, I told him something. But in general, he is a good guy who trains well. The whole team leaves a lot of energy in training, and we are rewarded for this kind of work on the football pitch. Bes did well, when joining the attack at the right moment and scoring an important goal, which gave us more confidence. Then Maka came out as a substitute, scored the second one, after which it became much easier. We have already started to enjoy the game more.
In the first half there were many episodes when we had to defend. Something didn't work. In such matches, it is necessary to endure and score first, after which it becomes easier and the team creates more chances. The most important thing is that we score goals and win. It helps us keep moving.
— This season, the team's play has become much more attacking and you have a lot of work. Do you like it?
— It would be ideal to score, then be focused on defense and keep the clean sheet. But the new coaching staff came with its own requirements. I think I started playing with my feet four times more. Goalkeepers are like outfield players now. In general, football has become more interesting. We are in the game all the time and must always be as focused as possible. Of course, I do not like to concede a lot of goals, like any goalkeeper, but I like to play more with my feet.
— There is a new tradition in the team: Marcel offers the best player of the match a symbolic prize after the game. Today you received a cap in the style of Lev Yashin. How did you like the gift?
— That's cool. I have seen that Dynamo hockey players offered a helmet to the best player after the game, who then says a couple of words. It's great when such traditions exist. In the previous RPL match, we decided to give the cap to Marcel. He did a great job, infected us with the attacking football. Fans come to the stadium to watch this kind of play. I think everyone likes it.
