At the Copa America, held in the USA, the group stage has come to an end, as a result of which two Dynamo players finished their performance in the tournament, and two more will continue to fight for the trophy in the playoffs.
The Mexican national team took third place in Group B, beating Jamaica (1:0), losing to Venezuela (0:1) and drawing with Ecuador (0:0). Luis Chavez was in the starting lineup in all three matches and was replaced only in the first meeting.
Fabian Balbuena received the captain's armband in the Paraguay national team and played all three matches. The Paraguayans finished fourth in Group D, having suffered defeats from Colombia (1:2), Brazil (1:4) and Costa Rica (1:2).
Now Chavez and Balbuena will receive a two-week vacation, after which they will rejoin Dynamo.
Uruguay won all three of its matches in Group C against Panama (3:1), Bolivia (5:0) and the USA (1:0). In the quarterfinals, the Uruguayans will play with Brazil (July 7 at 04:00 Moscow time). Nicolas Marichal has not appeared on the field yet.
Jorge Carrascal started all three matches of the Colombian national team in the group stage on the bench, coming on as a substitute in the game with Brazil (1:1). The Colombians also beat Paraguay (2:1) and Costa Rica (3:0), took first place in Group D and advanced to the quarterfinals to face Panama (July 7 at 01:00 Moscow time).
