Dynamo drew with Spartak in derby

# RPL

The encounter of the RPL eleventh round that was held at the Otkrytie Bank Arena ended in a 2:2 draw.

Both head coaches faced certain troubles ahead of the derby. Sandro Schwarz could not count on the injured Lesovoy, Laxalt and Makarov. Balbuena played 90 minutes for the Paraguay national team on Friday night, so Yevgenyev built up a pair of centre-backs with Ivan Ordets. Clinton N’Jie took the right wing at his disposal while Anton Shunin returned to the starting line-up.

Rui Vitoria had to do without two main scorers Promes and Ponce, as well as Umyarov, who had got an injury defending the colours of the Russia U21 team. Nevertheless, the hosts were more concrete at the very beginning. First, Ordets prevented Sobolev from shooting at the last moment, and after that, the Spartak centre-forward could have capitalized from Zakharyan's giveaway missing the target by a curling shot.

Dynamo were dangerous in their response. Szymanski intercepted the ball, making a pass into the penalty area, but Fomin lacked some fortune sending the ball past the post. In the next episode, Sebastian recorded the fourth assist of the season seeing Ivan Ordets break the deadlock.

After scoring the goal, the White-Blues locked Spartak on their half of the pitch, but they could not benefit from the goalscoring chances. The level of struggle was increasing gradually, which eventually resulted in a massive brawl following Zakharyan's careless tackle under Caufriez. Karasyov decided to cool emotions down showing four yellow cards at once — to Zakharyan, Grulyov, Dzhikiya and Gigot.

During the break, Konstantin Tyukavin came off the bench. The young star managed to put Dynamo well in charge of this intriguing derby. The teenage forward caught out Spartak captain Georgy Dzhikiya momentarily to latch onto a beautifully weighted Daniil Fomin through ball and slotted coolly past Aleksandr Maksimenko.

In the 83rd minute, Tyukavin had a chance to seal the win after Igboun's accurate pass but he fired wide. In the end, Spartak managed to equalize. First, Dzhikiya was on hand to head in from a couple of yards out, before Samuel Gigot bulleted home after Lomovitskiy’s cross.

Dynamo are now third in the table with 20 points. In the next round match, the White-Blues will play home against FC Khimki on October 22.
