The encounter of the RPL seventh round that was held at the VTB Arena ended in a 1:2 loss.
In comparison with the previous match against Lokomotiv two weeks ago, Sandro Schwarz made one change in the starting eleven. Yevgenyev replaced Balbuena, who later joined the squad after his international duty at the national team of Paraguay. Szymanski and Fomin recovered from minor injuries and were able to enter the starting line-up.
Already in the 4th minute, Dynamo stunned the visitors for the first time. Szymanski struck from distance and Makarov scored when rebounding the ball. However, the linesman brought disappointment to the White-Blues flagging for offside. Makarov's third attempt in the match finally led to success. Denis received a pass from Moro 20 meters from the goal, went around Gotsuk and slotted the ball into the bottom corner – 1:0.
Dynamo players were very close to double the lead. Firstly, Tyukavin missed the target after Varela's accurate cross from the right wing. And then Zakharyan tried his fortune moving forward and hitting the crossbar.
At the beginning of the second half, the visitors got a penalty, when Laxalt touched the ball by his hand interrupting Kozlov’s header. The referee was pitiless having watched the episode on the VAR screen. Suleymanov, who came on as a substitute after the interval, forgave the Moscow side sending the ball over the crossbar.
The hosts responded well. Tyukavin got a one-on-one run against Nigmatullin but couldn’t punish Nizhny Novgorod. This was the best chance to finish the game.
In eight minutes the visitors made an unexpected U-turn. First, Igor Gorbunov turned in a low cross to equalise, and then Nikolay Kalinsky finished off a lightning quick break instigated by Richlord Ennin's tackle and pass.
The White-Blues could save the match when Meshkov awarded the hosts a penalty for a foul on Grulyov. Lucas Masoero was sent off, but Nigmatullin denied N’Jie's shot from the penalty spot.
After this defeat Dynamo stay fourth in the standings. Our team will face Sochi in the next RPL encounter on September 19.
