Dynamo come from behind to beat CSKA thanks to Fomin's brace

The third round encounter that was held at the VTB Arena ended with a 2:1 win.

Sandro Schwarz decided to keep the starting line-up unchanged after a thrilling win in Ufa. N'Jie and Zakharyan took positions on the wings, while the newcomer Makarov joined the squad list for the first time but stayed on bench from the first minutes. The White-Blues entered the pitch wearing support shirts dedicated to their teammate Lesovoy who had undergone surgery and would miss the part of the season.

The visitors offered a bright start. The Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke scored a brilliant solo goal just eight minutes after the kick-off. Dynamo players didn't raise hands and took possesion of the ball. Zakharyan assumed the burden of attack driver having made accurate assists to Tyukavin and N'Jie.

After the break the hosts organized a stunning U-turn when Daniil Fomin scored a brace. Firstly, the central midfielder needed to share his success with Zakharyan who awarded a crucial penalty. When finishing consultations with VAR Bezborodov pointed to the penalty spot. Fomin scored for the third time from penalties in two games.

Then Daniil followed it up with a simple tap in 15 minutes later. By this time, Makarov came out the pitch and stroke from distance surprizing Akinfeyev. In the end of the match Dynamo players intercepted CSKA attempts calmly and confidently leading the game to the happy end.

The White-Blues came from behind against CSKA for the second time in a row and are joint top of the table. In the next round our team will play an away match against Akhmat on August 14.
