The Deputy General Director for sports Zeljko Buvac has signed a new contract with Dynamo Moscow until the summer of 2026.

The 62-year-old Bosnian specialist took over the club's sports direction in February 2020. Under his guidance, Dynamo reached the Russian Cup final and won the bronze medals of the national championship for the first time in 14 years.

— I am very happy to extend my contract. I want to successfully complete the work that I have been doing since I joined Dynamo, — Zeljko Buvac said . — I think we are on the right track and will achieve success in the future. There have been many good moments during my time at Dynamo. A lot of important work has been done and continues to be done. I look optimistically at how our club is growing.

It is important for us to follow our ideas, which we lay down in team work. This is why I am here. We need to develop young footballers, prospects of Dynamo. In addition, we have many good foreign players. By summer we will be even stronger. We will try to win in all tournaments!

As a player, Buvac defended the colors of Yugoslav and German clubs, including Mainz, where Jurgen Klopp also played. After ending his playing career, Zeljko spent 3 years leading the German side Neukirchen, after which he worked for 18 years as Klopp's assistant at Liverpool, Mainz, and Borussia Dortmund, where he became a two-time German champion, a German Cup holder, and a Champions League finalist.
