The encounter of the Mir Russian Premier League second round that was held at VTB Arena, ended in a 4:0 win for the White-Blues.
Dynamo coaching staff made one change in comparison with the previous round fixture. Saba Sazonov returned to the starting eleven, while Sergey Parshivlyuk moved to the right wing. Daniil Lesovoy recovered from one-match disqualification and Diego Laxalt was finally available for the team list. Both players remained on the bench.
Dynamo started well being pitiless for the visitors who came back to the RPL seven years later. Vyacheslav Grulev converted Fedor Smolov's effort quickly but the referee assistant flagged for offside. Grulev's powerful strike from distance should also be noted. Torpedo players looked for chances and from time to time penetrated into Dynamo penalty area. However, Kutitsky and Sazonov controlled the approaches to the box.
Since the 31st minute, the hosts picked up tempo and created nice chances that led to goals. Smolov benefited from Zakharyan's clever pass and sent the ball through the legs of the goalkeeper. Two minutes later this tandem shined again. Baburin threw Dynamo number 10 down. Fomin converted his 15th consecutive penalty in the RPL.
By half-time whistle Arsen showed some magic curling the ball into the far top corner. This goal turned out to be nicer than the screamer against Lokomotiv last season.
The best chance of Torpedo was created by Tsallagov who made a low cross to Mukhammad Sultonov. Dynamo goalkeeper Shunin came forward and neutralized the threat confidently.
In the 60th minute Yaroslav Gladyshev came out as a substitute instead of Denis Makarov. The youngster has been fouled on inside the penalty area several minutes later. Fedor Smolov said the final word in the match converting the penalty and making it 4:0.
Therefore, Dynamo repeated their biggest win in the derby against Torpedo. The White-Blues climbed to the second place. In the next round fixture our side will face Fakel Voronezh on Saturday, July 30.
