The encounter of the Fonbet Russian Cup group stage fifth round that was held at Grozny, ended in a 2:1 win for the hosts.

Both coaches fielded competitive squads for this important clash. Six out of seven internationals started the game at Dynamo (Anton Shunin is usually being rotated with Igor Leshchuk in Cup fixtures), while the left wing was taken by Vyacheslav Grulev who replaced Nicolas Ngamaleu. The Cameroonian winger had left for FIFA World Cup in Qatar and was going to play against Switzerland.

The hosts looked solid in the first half and deserved to open the score. Saba Sazonov kicked the ball inaccurately and offered a chance to Mohamed Konate who fired into the top corner. Dynamo players had enough mistakes in interplay letting Akhmat feel at ease. In the middle of the first half Grulev collided with Andrey Semyonov, fell badly on the ground and injured his collarbone.

By the half-time whistle the Chechen side got a penalty for the foul on Lechi Sadulayev. The debutant of the Russian national team shot low from the eleven-meter spot. Unfortunately, Igor Leshchuk could touch the ball, but didn't make a save.

After the interval the White-Blues brought more aggression into the game and took it under full control. The visitors created a lot of chances for equalising. Tyukavin, Lesovoy and Daniil Fomin were close to put their names into the scoresheet.

The pressure helped Dynamo cut the lead. Aleksandr Kutitsky succeeded on rebound from the corner kick and sent the ball into the back of the net. The young defensive midfielder scored his debut goal in Dynamo jersey. Slavisa Jokanovic reacted immediately releasing fresh Yaroslav Gladyshev and Diego Laxalt.

These changes improved Dynamo play and the new portion of goal chances appeared. Gladyshev and Gagnidze hit the crossbar, while Lesovoy missed the one-on-one situation. However, the White-Blues didn't manage to come from behind and stayed third with 7 points in the table.

Slavisa Jokanovic's men will play a vital match against Orenburg on Sunday, November 27.
