The encounter of the Mir Russian Premier League 21st round that was held at VTB Arena, ended in the 0:2 defeat of the hosts.
In comparison with the previous matchday Dynamo captain Daniil Fomin returned to the squad and took the place in the midfield together with Luka Gagnidze. The Georgian international who debuted for the homeland national team during the FIFA break replaced disqualified Arsen Zakharyan.
The White-Blues started strongly. On the 3rd minute Denis Makarov shot with the header past the goalkeeper who was not able to keep his goal safe. However, Kirill Kravtsov saved Sochi from conceding an early goal, standing on the goal line. The hosts won a lot of tackles in the center regularly and didn't let the Southern side begin their attacks in a comfortable way. Dynamo crosses brought enough danger, but the Muscovites' players lacked accurateness in finishing.
On the 25th minute the hosts gained the man advantage. Saba Sazonov made a long pass to Makarov. The number 25 outrode Soslan Dzhanayev who was forced to stop Dynamo winger with the foul. The referee showed the red card to the goalkeeper and rewarded Dynamo with a penalty. Unfortunately, Fomin couldn't beat Denis Adamov who came out as a substitute.
The first half ended with a nice chance for Tyukavin. However, the Sochi reserve goalkeeper spoiled Dynamo pretention to take the lead by the half-time whistle. After the break the Muscovites tried to find holes in Sochi heavy defense. Sometimes Slavisa Jokanovic's men managed to create potential chances, as Denis Makarov did by hitting the near post.
The Moscow team continued to dominate. Tyukavin won the position inside the penalty box and headed the ball into the roof of the net – Adamov stood firm. Then Fomin curled the ball over the crossbar from the promising free-kick. The Sochi side waited for its chance patiently and could score from the first corner. Vanja Drkusic headed the ball past Gagnidze's shoulder in. Five minutes later, Artyom Makarchuk finished a swift counterattack.
In remaining time Dynamo players pinned the opponent down their box but couldn't score even a consolation goal. The White-Blues stayed fourth on 35 points. In the next match Dynamo will face Akron at Fonbet Russian Cup semifinal first stage on April 4.
