The encounter of the Mir Russian Premier League sixteenth round that was held at Rostov Arena ended in 2:1 win for the hosts.
Slavisa Jokanovic was forced to make two changes in comparison with the previous round. Igor Leshchuk replaced Anton Shunin, while Nicholas Marichal came instead of injured Roberto Fernandez. The Paraguayan international is likely to miss three remaining fixtures this year.
The teams started the game carefully, because the stakes were high. The winner was going to take the third place in the table. The White-Blues took the ball under their control and exercised in long-range shots. Sergey Pesyakov denied Arsen Zakharyan and Daniil Fomin's efforts.
The visitors looked solid in pressure leaving the Rostov side not enough space for fast counterattacks. As a result, Valery Karpin's team didn't have any strike towards Leshchuk's goal before the interval.
By the end of the first half the Muscovites could open the score. Zakharyan built a flash-like attack, then, Smolov assisted on Denis Makarov, who fired wide from his left.
The start of the second half was marked by a yellow card shown to Slavisa Jokanovic. The visitors continued to dominate. Firstly, Makarov missed the target aiming the near corner. Right winger got another chance several minutes later, but struck into Pesyakov's face who stayed without any movement on the goal line.
The Rostov side made a goal from nothing. Nikolay Komlichenko won a ball from Marichal and rolled it to Kirill Shchetinin. The youngster beat effectively Dynamo goalkeeper. Jokanovic responded with a triple substitution fielding Daniil Lesovoy, Konstantin Tyukavin and Vyacheslav Grulev. However, the hosts scored one more goal. Komlichenko registered the second assist, while Danil Glebov finished the attack calmly.
Our team managed to cut the lead immediately. Yaroslav Gladyshev capitalised on Grulev's tackle and sent Tyukavin one-on-one with Pesyakov. Konstantin put his name on the scoresheet striking low to the far corner.
Dynamo remain sixth with 26 points. In the next round the White-Blues are going to be tested by CSKA in the brother's derby on November 13.
