The White-Blues’ right-back Eli Dasa summed up the Dynamo's performance at the Russian Cup group stage and told who he supported personally at the FIFA World Cup.
— Are you satisfied with the team's performance in the Russian Cup?
— At this stage we had to reach the play-off. We could have accomplished this task much earlier, but we lost important points. In the game with Orenburg, the team was highly concentrated. We deserved to win and finished first in the group.
— Recently, Daniil Fomin received the Gentleman of the Year award. Today he started the attack that led to the goal. Did you congratulate him?
— Of course, he fully deserves this title, because Daniil is a real gentleman, a good football player, captain and a person. I am glad that he plays in our team.
— Would you like to win such an award yourself?
— For me, personal awards are not so important. It will be better if my team achieves its goals.
— Are you following the World Cup in Qatar?
— Yes, of course. Moumi has already made his debut. I hope he will establish himself in more matches. I have a few more friends there. It seems to me that the Brazilian national team is the strongest one in the tournament. So we'll see.
— Who else do you support at the World Cup?
— I have a favorite player – it’s Leo Messi. I was surprised by the score of Argentina's first match against Saudi Arabia, which played very well in the second game too. It's great that football is developing, and there are more and more competitive national teams with each tournament. It's a good sign for our sport.
— Did you watch Argentina – Mexico match?
— Of course, when Messi scored, I screamed like a madman. I think the major part of the fans did the same.
— Do you follow the performance of any right-backs?
— I am following all the right-backs and try to take the best from everyone. You always need to be open to something new, and then you will be ready for any situation on the pitch. I've always liked Dani Alves. He's my number one in this position.
