Fabian Balbuena suspends contract with Dynamo

According to this decision, FIFA has allowed foreign football players to suspend contracts for convenience with Russian clubs for the 2022/23 season. Dynamo Moscow consider this decision inconsistent, discriminatory and grossly violating the FIFA fundamental principles and reserve the right to appeal the relevant FIFA decision to the competent authorities.

— We are upset by Fabián's decision, — Dynamo General Director Pavel Pivovarov said. — But the club was prepared for the possible consequences of the recent FIFA decision. We are working actively on the transfer market and will do everything possible to compensate for this loss. We thank Fabián for his selfless play for Dynamo and his contribution to winning bronze medals last season. We hope for his early return to our club.

Balbuena joined Dynamo Moscow in July 2021. Since then the Paraguayan centre-back made 32 appearances in Dynamo jersey and scored three goals.
