In the opening match of the U-21 European Championship group stage Georgia beat Portugal by 2:0.
In the first half, Ramaz Svanadze's team scored two goals creating a big sensation at the very start of the tournament. In the 45th minute, Dynamo centre-back Saba Sazonov doubled the hosts' lead by heading the ball from the corner.
Sazonov spent the entire match on the pitch, while another Dynamo player Luka Gagnidze remained in reserve.
After this victory, the Georgian U-21 team headed the group A.
