Igor Leshchuk: The result was in the foreground in the match against Sochi

# Igor Leschuk

Dynamo goalkeeper Igor Leshchuk shared his emotions of his first match this season and thanked fans for their support.

— How did you prepare for a tough match against Sochi?

— It is easier to tune in to such games, because you understand that the match will be tough and interesting. You should always be in good shape.

— Immediately after the match, you called it terrible. Why?

— The game didn't go the way we wanted. But the result was very important. We wanted to win back after the previous round, and the score was in the foreground. The game was terrible because we gave up the initiative, and the opponent put pressure on us the whole second half. It was impossible to relax for a second.

— You always kicked the ball far into the opposite half of the pitch. Why didn't you pass to the nearest defender?

— The pitch was not quite good. In addition, the Sochi players were waiting for our passing and were ready to put pressure on us. In such a situation, it was easier to kick the ball forward.

— Today you often left the goal. Wasn't it too risky on such a pitch?

— No, this was a requirement of the coaching staff. The defenders also ask that the goalkeeper spots for them and they can play higher. I'm always waiting for a throw behind the backs of defenders. This is what we have been preparing for.

— There was a lot of pressure on our goal in the second half, but you looked calm. Weren't you worried at all?

— There was an internal worry. But such calmness inspires confidence in the players and the fans, so this is a plus.

— What helps to keep such composure?

— I'm not a particularly emotional person at all. I usually experience all the emotions inside myself. When I'm happy, I don't show it much. It's the same here — when there is worry or excitement, I try to keep it inside.

— Our fans’ stands chanted your name. Have you heard the support?

— Yes, many thanks to them for it. I often hear their chanting, read posts with words of support on social networks. So happy victory to all of us.
