Centre-back Ivan Ordets commented on the victory over Sochi, in which he made his debut as the captain of Dynamo.
— You played the first official match for Dynamo with the captain's armband. What does it mean for you?
— I am very pleased that the coaching staff appointed me captain. It's great that we fought to the last seconds. Perhaps the game was not our best, but the main thing was to win and get on the winning path.
— You managed to be everywhere in defense. Did the captain's armband give you more confidence?
— All well done. Everyone fought, pulled out every ball, threw themselves under the shots, because we knew that any rebound could lead to a goal. In addition, Leshchuk made a good performance. He played calmly, reliably and coolly.
— How did you play during such weather on a heavy pitch?
— As soon as we came on the pitch, we realized that it would be very difficult to pass and there would be a lot of tackles. The coaching staff motivated us a lot. Today we won a lot of tackles and pulled out a victory thanks to it.
— The team spent almost the whole second half in defense. What bothered you from possessing the ball?
— The pitch did not particularly allow passing. In the second half, it became a little easier to play deep, because we switched to a play with five defenders. It was a little difficult in the first half — the opponent played great in attack. They have good, experienced footballers in the midfield. We knew that it would be tough, but we survived. Thank God we won. The positive result is the most important thing today.
— The team played unusually much on counterattacks. Was it the coach's game plan, or you played according to the situation?
— We played according to the situation, because the Sochi players controlled the ball well. We ran out well on counterattacks, could still score, but somewhere we were unlucky, somewhere the goalkeeper helped them out.
— A lot of Dynamo fans came to the stadium. Did you feel as at home?
— To be honest, yes. There were a lot of our fans, that it is very nice. We heard them the full match from all sides. After the game, we thanked them. Thank them again for their support.
