Dynamo head coach Marcel Licka answered journalists' questions after the game against Orenburg (2:1).
— I can say that today we survived in the first half. Orenburg played fast football with high intensity. They were good at finding fast attacking players, executed set pieces well and could punish us several times. In the second half, our forwards began to open up more behind the defenders' backs, and this tactics brought us points.
Tyuka opened up well, took the ball, shared it with Fomin, and when getting a return pass, he scored an important goal. Fedya also opened up great behind the defender and made a clever pass to Moumi, who scored the second goal. But it is very difficult to play against Orenburg here, and the opponent could cut our lead, after which they played a wing game with numerous crosses into the penalty area. We must pay tribute to our defenders – they cleared them well, managed to control the zones and help Shunin. We lasted those 15 minutes and gained maybe not such a nice victory as in Nizhny Novgorod, but we took the same three points. Many thanks to the team for saving this win in such a tough match.
— Did you like the team's performance today?
— In the first half there was a big difference between our attacking group and the opposing forwards. They were better, more active, faster. Substitutions helped us in the second half. Tyuka benefited from his only chance, and this is the difference that really high-quality footballers make. Fedya and Moumi repeated the same thing later, there were still good attempts. We played better in the second half.
— Fedor Smolov played in the centre-forward position today and made an assist. Which place do you like him more?
— I think Fedya likes to play as a striker more, because when having playmaking fonctions, he needs to help the midfielders more and sit back to our half of the pitch. He is an intelligent footballer, he plays well with his body, and his appearance on the pitch, as well as Makarov and Ngamaleu, helped the team to turn the tide.
— When you were at Orenburg, the footballers never played for time. Today Anton Shunin received a yellow card for it.
— Today it happened. He was shown a yellow card in added time, and the last 10-15 minutes were very difficult for us. Orenburg played very fast, there was a lot of tackles, and we needed to extinguish this intensity a little bit. This is football, and so do other teams. We want to win, and we need to use all the opportunities. We had a difficult streak of 4 consecutive away matches, and it was very difficult to beat Orenburg twice in a week. I am very happy about it.
