The head coach of the White-Blues Marcel Licka summed up the winter VTB training camps, which finished with a friendly match against CSKA (2:1).
— How did you find the final friendly game before the season restart?
— Today, for about 80% of the time, we were unsuccessful. We lacked movement on the pitch. But a big plus is that after conceding a goal, the team didn't give up and managed to overcome physical and mental fatigue. Grulya and Karra scored two goals and turned the game around. This ending showed the inner strength of our team.
— Today Sergey Parshivlyuk played on the left wing of the defense. Is he expected to come out in this position in the match against Lokomotiv?
— We'll see, we have another week until the first game of the championship. We will hold a weekly training cycle, after which the decision on the starting lineup will be made. The squad may change.
— Will the team prepare for the match against Lokomotiv in full strength, except for Stanislav Bessmertnyi?
— Yes, everyone else is healthy. Moumi has also started to work on the pitch, that's why only Bes will continue to recover.
— Are you satisfied with these winter training camps?
— The second half of the season will show that. Everything I wanted, the guys did. We tested not only 15-16 main players but also young guys who showed themselves well – especially in the matches against Orenburg and Krylya. I'm not saying it will happen tomorrow, but soon we will be able to count on them. Having an academy, which supplies such talented footballers is a big bonus for the club. At the same time, experienced players showed their stable level, so I can say that the training camps went well.
