The head coach of the white-and-blues Marcel Lichka commented on the team's victory at the "VTB training camp" in Turkey over "Elimai" (2:1).
— The opponent played quite compactly and organized today. There were situations where we should have acted better after losing the ball and reacted more quickly. It's good that we managed to score first, but then there was a loss of concentration when we lost an easy ball, and the opponent equalized the score within five minutes. I was not pleased with that. But any victory is an indicator of good work, so I thanked the guys. I think they are also mentally tired, as the training camp has been going on for 12 days.
— What can you say about the performance of the young players on our team?
— Obviously, there were a lot of young guys in the lineup, who were helped by the experienced Shunin, Smolov, Makarov, and Skopintsev. Such a tough game is a good experience for the youth. In some moments, they still lack aggressiveness. In the first half, there were many moments when the "Yelimay" forwards received the ball, and we retreated backward. Young defenders – Lepskiy, Zaidenzal – need to get used to one-on-one contact play and orientate themselves faster during crosses into the penalty area, meeting the opponent's players. In the Russian championship, there are many good forwards who can take advantage of even an extra second. There are nuances that we need to correct.
