Dynamo head coach Marcel Licka spoke about his expectations from the opening game of the season against Fakel in a flash interview with Match Premier TV channel.
— Today the team is not in its optimal lineup, but you are still positive.
— Everything is fine, this is football. Before the game I always say that the same situation can be viewed either negatively or positively. And if you look negatively, then you have already lost the struggle in advance. Today we will be able to look at young pupils of the academy - Lepsky and Bessmertny, who are eager to prove themselves. Plus, Okishor and Nazarenko are on the bench.
— What do you expect from Fakel, which last season showed predominantly defensive football?
— From what I’ve seen, I can say that Fakel has started playing more with the ball, while maintaining discipline and aggressiveness. Previously, even in the FNL, they played 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, and today they will also play with 3 central defenders. They try to press high, and we want to use it due to the skill of Laxalt, Fomin, Bitello and Tyukavin, who know how to play under pressure and quickly move to the opponent’s half of the field.
— With what thoughts and goals do you enter the new championship?
— Of course, we want to stay on top and fight for first place. But we must not forget that those teams that finished the last championship behind us also have ambitions, and everything will be decided in small details. The start will be a little more difficult for us, but I want to look positively at it and fight for victory with the players I have here and now.
