Marcel Licka: «Young players still lack the quality of ball handling and experience»

We have a difficult situation; we lost deservedly.— As Dynamo head coach, you've lost almost all matches to Spartak. Why is that?— I don't pay attention to it. Honestly, I don't keep such statistics. Today, the opponent was twice as strong as us. In the first half, something worked out for us, but after the break, it got harder and harder.

— Today's result is more the merit of Spartak or Dynamo's defeat?

— Our players on the field are born in 2005-2006 — young guys. I can't demand from them to pull out such games. And it's not easy to play against an opponent like Spartak when you have 5 young players on your field. The opponent was better today and deserved to win.

— Did you take into account that Alexander Sobolev wouldn't be playing for Spartak while deciding on the game tactics?

— No. We chose the tactics based on our readiness after the game with Lokomotiv. Young guys got a lot of experience today. A derby is a tough game. Young people learned today how to play under pressure against a good opponent with a large number of fans.

— In the second half, it seemed like we stopped being able to win the ball and there was no coordination between the players.

— We were losing the ball after 2-3 passes, and when you run after the ball a lot, you get tired faster. You don't have freshness in your legs, and then there's another loss. After the missed penalty, we just ran around mindlessly for 5-8 minutes.
