Dynamo head coach Marcel Licka commented on the first friendly match against Slovan Bratislava (2:1) at the Qatari VTB training camp.
— Every victory, especially over such a good opponent, adds confidence. I must say that we are only at the beginning of preparation. The first half was positive and turned out to be better than the second one, in which the Slovak side had to score a couple of goals. We didn't do enough after the break. It is clear that yesterday the guys worked quite hard and went out on the pitch on heavy legs. But we need to know how to play under fatigue.
— It seemed that the team could play in official matches right now.
— I am satisfied with our experienced players: Parshivlyuk, Smolov, Balbuena, Fomin. Tyukavin as well – I don't want to name all of them. They arrived at the training camp well prepared. But there was a group of footballers that came less prepared. These are more young guys. Therefore, in the first half we saw a different game and different movement, and in the second we ran more without the ball because the young players did not do well.
— Aleksandr Chupayov came out as a starter and scored the debut goal for the first team. Do you have any special words for him about this?
— Chupa has to work a lot more. Of course, as a striker, it's good that he scored today. But he still has a long distance to go, and he needs to work hard.
