Dynamo head coach Marcel Licka answered journalists' questions after the match with Khimki (4:3).
— Excellent result. When the matches end in December, you will need to take a longer vacation to recover your nerves after matches like this week (laughs). I told the guys that we need to be constantly focused and try to play for zero, because I was sure that we would have chances in attack. We had a good implementation, but we didn't manage to play a dry match in defense. It wasn't just the mistakes of the four defenders or the goalkeeper, the whole defensive line was to blame, including the defensive midfielders responsible for rebounds.
Fabi and Niko have won a lot of riding today, although Zabolotny is one of the best strikers in this regard. Our central defenders did a lot of work, but they also needed help. I am very happy with the victory on the road in Khimki.
— There was an impression that Dynamo did not play at its usual speeds today, and this could affect the result of the match.
— At half-time I told the guys that we didn't have enough sharpness ahead. We did well between the lines, Balbuena found Bitello and Tyukavin well, who gave the ball to the flank. We scored the third goal when Bitello got a penetrating pass, threw the ball further, and Arthur scored it into the goal – that's the speed of the game and it should be. Today, we often left our half with a step and were in no hurry to sharpen the game.
— It was also striking that when the canopies went into the penalty area, panic often reigned there. Do you agree with this?
— "Khimki" in the end switched to the game only with long balls and overhangs in the penalty area. And it is important not to panic at such moments. Yes, today the game was swinging one way or the other. Robie's goal, which equalized the score, was the most important moment of the match. If we had gone for a break, losing in the score, we would have had to recoup, and Khimki would have focused on quick counterattacks, in which the fast Mirzov, Bakaev and Rudenko would have run away.
— Do games like today give you confidence that you are doing everything right? Or does the criticism of the team for playing defensively offend you somehow?
— I always try to prepare the team in the best possible way. There are games like with CSKA, and then we tried to correct our mistakes. In the match with Rubin, we managed to do this. During breaks for national team matches, only Osprey and Robie remain at our disposal from the defenders. Now Kutitskiy and Fernandez are playing on the flanks of the defense, who do not look good in their profile positions. We try to work in such a way as to constantly improve our football and please the fans. Everyone criticizes the defense, but few people say that we scored 14 goals in three games and, most importantly, achieved the result.
