Nicolas Marichal: I want to come to the pitch as soon as possible

# Nicolas Marichal

The Uruguayan centre-back Nicolas Marichal shared his first impressions of moving to Dynamo and told about his goals at the club.

— Share your emotions from your transfer to Dynamo.

— I am very glad to be here. I didn't expect it to happen so quickly. I really liked the training base that has all the necessary conditions and a nice stadium where I want to play as soon as possible.

— Why did you choose Dynamo among other clubs?

— This is a great opportunity to continue improving my play in the new league and learn a new country. Of course, it was not easy to go so far from the motherland and leave all my relatives and friends. But that's part of my job. I've been dreaming about it since I was a kid.

— Tell us how long it took you to get from Uruguay to Russia.

— It was a very long journey. I expected it to be shorter, but I had to wait a long time for changes. I took off from Uruguay at noon on Saturday, and got to Moscow only on Monday afternoon. So I spent many hours on the road, but it was worth it. Now I can't wait to come to the pitch.

— Is this the longest journey of your life?

— Yes, it was the longest one. But it was not in vain.

— What can you say about Dynamo? Have you watched any team's matches?

— Honestly speaking, I haven't seen any Dynamo games yet. But I know that they are a very dynamic team that always strives to win. And this is close to me, because in Uruguay I also represented the team that always tried to win.

— What did people in Uruguay say about your move to Dynamo?

— People who know me are very happy for me. I think the fans of Nacional also understand that this is a great opportunity for me, which I have to use. I will do my best to establish myself and prove that I am worthy to play here.

— What goals do you set for yourself at our club?

— I came here to show my best qualities, give my best in all matches and bring joy to Dynamo fans. The first goal is to become a regular in the squad and play as much as possible. And, of course, I want to help the team win the Russian Premier League and other titles.

— Do you know that another footballer from South America is playing as a centre-back?

— Yes, of course, I know that Roberto Fernandez from Guarani has joined the team earlier. We haven't talked yet, but we will definitely get to know each other soon, as well as other teammates.

— Will his presence in the team accelerate your adaptation in Russia?

— I think so because I don't understand Russian at all, and I speak very little English. So it will help me a lot that Roberto Fernandez and Diego Laxalt play in defense, and the head coach speaks Spanish. I will grow even faster with such teammates.

— Did you know that Dynamo and Nacional had met in the late 50s? Dynamo won two matches.

— No, to be honest, I don't know much about the Dynamo history yet. I have not heard about this fact. Maybe there will be a rematch someday.
