On Sunday, former midfielder of Dynamo Moscow and the Russian national team Omari Tetradze turns 55

Omari Mikhailovich was born in the Georgian village of Velispiri and learned the basics of football in Tbilisi. He started his adult career at Dynamo Tbilisi, and in 1991 he moved to Dynamo Moscow.

The defensive midfielder stood out for his excellent technique, good field vision, and ability to start an attack. At the same time, he was very effective in tackling when playing defense. In his first season with our club, Tetradze made it into the list of the 33 best football players in the USSR.

He also became known for his discipline and impeccable execution of the coaching game plan, as well as his intelligent play and restraint in behavior. Thus, at the end of the 1994 season, he was named Gentleman of the Year. Overall, Tetradze played 126 matches, scored 12 goals, and won silver and two bronze medals in the Russian championship while playing for Dynamo

In 1995, he moved to Alania and became the champion of Russia, after which he went to Italian Roma. He played for Greek PAOK, with which he won the Greek Cup.

In the early 2000s, he returned to Russia, where at the end of his career he played for Alania, Anji, and Krylia Sovetov. He also played 40 matches for the Russian and CIS national teams, playing in the 1994 World Cup and Euro 1996.

After finishing his football career, Omari Mikhailovich took up coaching. He worked with various RPL and FNL teams, as well as Kazakhstani Zhetysu and Tobol. His last club was Georgian Saburtalo
