Dynamo General Director Pavel Pivovarov spoke about the negotiations on Konstantin Tyukavin's contract extension and named his favorite goal of the young striker.
— Kostya is our prospect, he has become a key player in the first team. Despite the young age, he has already turned into one of Dynamo symbols. We had no doubt that the club would reach an agreement on his contract extension, and I congratulate everyone on such an occasion.
— Do you have any favorite goal of Kostya for Dynamo?
— Probably the first goal scored against Spartak, because it caused a lot of emotions. I also liked the goal that Kostya had scored in the last derby against CSKA. It was a little bit lucky, but it was a great goal against a very good goalkeeper.
— How were the negotiations going? Is there any buy-out clause in the new contract?
— We started negotiations in the summer, there were a series of meetings, proposals, during which we brought our positions closer. We realized immediately that there was an intention to come to an agreement, which eventually happened. There is no buy-out clause for Russian clubs, but there is one for foreign sides.
— How important was it to extend Tyukavin's contract, given the fact that he is a prospect of the club academy?
— Of course, it was important. We saw that Kostya wanted to stay, and it was necessary to create comfortable conditions for his development so that he would fully realize his potential at the parent club.
— Everyone saw the statistics according to which Dynamo and Lokomotiv believe in their prospects the most among other RPL clubs. Is it a principal goal to develop new young stars? Is there anyone else already on the way to the first team?
— We constantly see new young guys in the first team: Zazvonkin, Lepsky, Bessmertnyi. We rely on our prospects and strive to help them to join the main squad every year. Our young footballers move through the training system very quickly and make their debut at a fairly young age.
— Everyone discussed the quote by Marcel Licka, who told that he would not give Tyukavin to Arshavin. How real was the Zenit's interest?
— Zenit have indicated their interest publicly. Andrey Sergeevich is not only a legend of Russian football and an expert of Match TV, but he is also the Deputy General Director of Zenit. And when he says it's good that Kostya didn't renew his contract, it doesn't sound very friendly (laughs). There were no official offers from Zenit. In general, first of all they need to monitor the contracts of their players. They are also expiring.
