Dynamo General Director Pavel Pivovarov answered journalists' and fans' questions at a press conference dedicated to the 2024 BetBoom Brother's Cup announcement.
— Is this tournament regarded more as a show, or it will include a sports component, taking the preparation for the new season into consideration?
— This will be that stage of the pre-season when it will be necessary to seriously prepare for the start of the championship. The format of the tournament and the list of participants imply the sporting significance of these matches. Nevertheless, we will use all the advantages of the BetBoom Brother's Cup – an interesting matchday, original format, festival areas and equipment – to attract an audience. So the tournament will also have an entertaining aspect. And I'll also lift the veil of secrecy a little bit: at an earlier stage of the pre-season, we have scheduled matches of a more entertaining nature. We will talk about them later.
— Is there any information about which of the artists will perform at the tournament?
— We are now actively discussing those celebrities and artists whom we want to invite. We have options for each of the matches. Negotiations are underway with the artists, but it is too early to announce the final decisions. The level of the artists will be high.
— Everyone remembers Marcel Licka's appearance in the game against 2DROTS. Can he come to the pitch this time?
— I think he played very well. Then he shared very positive impressions with us. These matches will be held in a more serious sports mode, but we do not exclude the minor participation of the club's ambassadors.
— Everyone also remembers Aleksandr Ovechkin's appearance as part of Dynamo in the match against Amkal. Is his candidacy being considered?
— Of course, we are thinking about it. It was a fantastic event that turned many people's ideas about media football and what professional football lacks sometimes. His goal and power play gathered crazy coverage. He is one of the first candidates to participate in the matches.
— Do you have plans to make the BetBoom Brother's Cup a regular tournament? And does it expect even more expansion in the future?
— We have a lot of ideas for the development of this project. We are considering different alternatives and scenarios. Of course, we would like to develop this tournament. So far, the mood is very positive. We like what we do.
— Is it possible to hold such a tournament in Serbia in the future?
— It all depends on many aspects. This tournament is largely held thanks to the support of our sponsor, BetBoom. Without their active involvement in this project, it would not have happened. It is very difficult to organize such competitions, coordinate schedule, discuss details with participants – this is a lot of work. If an appropriate funding source is found for the tournament in Serbia, then why not?
— Has the ticket program been already developed for the tournament?
— We have plans on this issue, there are target numbers that we want to achieve. That's why we are announcing the tournament now. We would like to generate interest in it and fill the stadiums to the fullest. There will be a unique ticket program, which we will tell you about in the nearest future.
