First AR show in Russian football and mighty Ded Moroz: the New Year's matchday — how it was

The main slogan «Waiting for the New...» combines a pre-holiday mood and great surprises that we are constantly preparing for our fans.

This time, the visitors of the stadium in Petrovsky Park could test AR technologies (Augmented Reality): special AR masks were created, an AR photo zone was placed under stands, and the first AR show in Russian football was held in the bowl of the arena.

It was enough to scan the QR code from the stadium scoreboard using mobile phones to see how a Christmas tree was growing in the center of the pitch, or a digital Ded Moroz was technically handling the ball. During the break, a prize draw was held with the help of augmented reality technology. 26 fans caught a Secret Box containing gifts from Dynamo football players and coaches, and over two thousand spectators received discounts in the club fan shop.

Snow Maidens and the characters of everyone's favorite New Year's movies «Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Profession» and «The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!» created a Christmassy mood in the stands. The Dabro musical duo performed their hits live ahead of the match and during the break.

Despite the frost, Dynamo vs Zenit match attracted many famous football fans to the VTB Arena. There were actor Kamil Larin, entrepreneur Mikhail Kusnirovich, singers Lev Leshchenko and Sergey Shnurov, as well as the widow of the legendary Dynamo goalkeeper Valentina Yashina among them.

And, of course, one of the main protagonists of the matchday was Ded Moroz, who not only took photos with everyone and shot the game T-shirts with an air gun, but crushed the Dynamo gong by a mighty blow of his staff five minutes before the final whistle.
