Team status

After the international break, Dynamo, who played without a number of basic players, missed the victory in Voronezh in the last seconds (1:1). Daniil Fomin scored his 30th goal for Dynamo and entered the top 40 of the best scorers in the club's history. The 18-year-old midfielder Dmitry Alexandrov made his debut in the RPL in the match with Fakel.

Fabian Balbuena, Nicolas Ngamaleu and Luka Gagnidze, who were purposefully preparing for the cup meeting, did not fly to Voronezh. Andrei Lunev, Bitello and Milan Majstorovic continued their recovery from injuries, and perhaps some of them will be able to play with Lokomotiv.

About the opponent

After the first cup meeting with Dynamo, the railwaymen played two matches. Before the November break, they defeated Fakel at home in a difficult match thanks to two penalties scored by Alexei Batrakov. Next, the young leader of Lokomotiv made his debut in the Russian national team and scored a goal against Brunei.

On Saturday, the red-greens met in a derby with Spartak, and Mikhail Galaktionov threw all the strongest into battle. The first half was completely left to the red and white, who scored three unanswered goals against Ilya Lantratov, who was responsible for the first goal of the match. After the break, Sergei Pinyaev and Zherzino Nyamsi returned the intrigue, but in the end Spartak scored twice more and won a crushing victory (5:2).

— It should be noted that in the first half we were not like ourselves, we were in some kind of prostration, - said Galaktionov. – The first missed goal, of course, stunned the team. Honor and praise to her that, due to substitutions, messages and zeal, they were able to return to the game, even were somewhere close to translate into a draw. To summarize briefly: on the one hand, it hurts, it's unpleasant, but such defeats are needed to bring us down a little from heaven to earth so that we don't stay euphoric from success.

History of meetings

The teams met 7 times in the Russian Cup draws. The advantage on the side of the railwaymen is five wins against two defeats. Goal difference – 12:4. The only one who scored more goals was Dmitry Sychev, who scored a double in 2007.

This season, the teams exchanged victories: Dynamo won the championship with a score of 3:1, and Lokomotiv was stronger in the first quarterfinal match (2:1).
