On Tuesday, Dynamo held a tense cup derby with Lokomotiv, losing at home with a score of 1:2. El-Mehdi Mauhub scored his fifth goal in this cup campaign, coming close to the leader of the scorer race Timur Suleymanov. Vyacheslav Grulev came on as a substitute in the second half, having played his 150th match in the blue and white.

Nizhny Novgorod residents were systematically preparing for Saturday's match, as they took 4th place in the group stage of the Cup and finished their performance in the tournament. Already with the Belarusian specialist in the 6th round, the team beat Krasnodar on the road in a meaningless match (2:1), sending him on the Way to the regions.

In the championship, with the arrival of Goncharenko, the situation also began to improve: a draw with Rostov (1:1) and a defeat from Spartak (0:2) was followed by an away victory over Akhmat (2:0), which brought the team to 9th place in the table.

However, the Grozny match was not without losses – the main central defender Nikita Kakkoev and forward Ognen Ozhegovich received their fourth yellow cards. Also, Vladislav Karapuzov, who received two disqualification matches for a gross foul against Ezequiel Barko, will not play against his former club.

But Alexander Udaltsov, the sports director of Nizhny Novgorod, who moved from Dynamo in June after 8 years of work in the main team and housing and communal services, as well as his deputy, the favorite of Dynamo fans, Vladimir Rykov, will come to the well-known arena.

Jorge Carrascal played for CSKA together with Nizhny Novgorod midfielder Nikita Ermakov in the 2022/23 season.

Daniil Fomin played two full seasons on loan for the Nizhny Novgorod club, having played 70 matches in the FNL and the Russian Cup.

Vyacheslav Grulev also went to Nizhny Novgorod on loan, but managed to play only two matches there before the FNL championship was completed ahead of schedule due to the pandemic in 2020.

For Marcel Licka and Viktor Goncharenko, this will be the fourth meeting in the Russian championship. So far, the Belarusian specialist is ahead of the victories – 2:1.

Saturday's meeting will be the 10th anniversary in the history of the confrontation between Dynamo and Pari NN. The blue and white have a big advantage: five wins, two draws and two defeats. The goal difference is 18:9 in our favor.

The top scorers of the confrontation are: Daniil Fomin (4 goals), Fedor Smolov (3), Yaroslav Gladyshev (3), Konstantin Tyukavin (3) and Nikolai Kalinsky (3).

Pavel Shadykhanov will serve the meeting, assisted by linesmen Dmitry Safyan and Aram Petrosyan. Jan Bobrovsky and Vitaly Meshkov will be responsible for the video Referee Assistance System (VAR).

Previously, the 38-year-old referee from Moscow served two meetings of the blue and white: last season with Orenburg (2:0) and this season with Akron (2:0).
