The Dynamo Head Coach summed up the friendly match against Khimki-M, which ended with a 5:0 win of the Moscow side.
– I am satisfied with the way the team played today. It was necessary to keep the same pace throughout the entire match. Of course, there were episodes when we could have played better, but in general, it turned out to be a good performance.
– Was it important to face a big-name opponent today? Khimki-M are playing in the FNL II, and Dynamo were much better.
– First of all, we needed to provide playing time to those players who did not come out on the pitch so often. Soon we will have a Russian cup match. We wanted the players to get the necessary practice and stay in good shape.
– What can you say about the display of those footballers who did not have enough playing time in the Premier League?
– We need to stay in the right rhythm in order to be fully prepared for the next encounter. Today we scored goals for every taste – after ball possession, passing play and counterattacks. Now we have a short break, after which we will continue to prepare for the match against Nizhny Novgorod.
– During the broadcast, the fans chose the best goal of the match. Their choice fell on Vladislav Galkin’s goal. And which goal did you like more?
– There were many good goals today, especially in the first half. But I would also choose Galkin's goal. Vlad took the right place in the penalty area, received an accurate pass and hit the target.
– How would you evaluate Arsen Zakharyan's display in yesterday's match against Croatia?
– Yesterday, Volkan Bulut and I watched the game of the Russian national team live and we followed Arsen Zakharyan. But it is not my task to talk about Arsen's performance when he is at the national team's disposal. This is more the prerogative of the head coach of the national team.
– You were named the best coach of the summer in the Russian Premier League. What do you think about it?
– This is an achievement of our coaching staff. We have to continue in the same spirit, to prove our worth. The team played successfully in the first six rounds, so this recognition confirms the quality of our work.
