Dynamo head coach Slavisa Jokanovic answered journalists' questions after the Cup winning match against Zenit.
— I am satisfied with the final score and our advance to the next Cup round. We defeated such a strong opponent. In the first half we respected Zenit too much. We lacked aggressiveness. Zenit had many chances to score, but they were not always dangerous. In the second half, we began to play better, added in aggression and moved the ball more quickly. In the last 20-25 minutes we looked fresher than the opponent. We could have won in regular time, so I think the final score is well deserved.
— How would you comment on the second half episode when Tyukavin fell in the Zenit penalty area after a contact with Claudinho?
— This question is not to be addressed to me. I have already talked about this after the match with Krasnodar. There was an offside when we conceded the second goal. In such cases, the referee must be responsible for his decisions. Yes, the situation is strange, but it should be dealt with by a special commission. I can say that I saw a referee who was afraid to make the right decision, and this is bad news for Russian football.
— Dynamo start to play more confidently with every new match. Why was it not possible to start playing confidently this year as well?
— In the match against Krasnodar, we looked good, despite the defeat. Yes, the restart of the season was not excellent for us, and we did not feel confident enough in the matches with Krylya Sovetov. I hope that today's win will give us a positive impulse. But we have no time to celebrate, because there will be a match against Ural in three days. They are in good shape now. We need to keep progressing, play with more concentration and believe in ourselves. Today, during some periods, we showed our style and good football.
— You have passed through the strongest team in Russia. Does this victory make Dynamo the new favorite of the tournament?
— I don't think so. Today we showed our ambitions and desire to repeat and even improve the result of the last season. Yes, Zenit are probably the strongest team in Russia. But there are a lot of matches ahead, and there are still quite strong sides in the draw. We need to go step by step, improve the game, believe in ourselves and try to reach the final.
