Dynamo head coach Slavisa Jokanovic answered journalists' questions after the Cup match with Akron (0:0, 1:4 on penalties).
— Of course, we are disappointed with the final result and the end of our Cup performance. On the other hand, we played the first 45 minutes of the match very well. In the second half, we also played well – Tyukavin, Makarov, Fomin, Grulev, Gladyshev created chances. But, unfortunately, we couldn't score a single goal and lost in the penalty shootout. Congratulations to Akron on reaching the next stage of the tournament.
— What happened to Daniil Fomin?
— Fomin is the captain of our team, and he played a good game. Before the penalty shootout, I talked to him and he said he was ready to shoot. I didn't expect any other answer from him. Unfortunately, he did not realize his attempt.
— After being defeated by Akron, do you have a feeling that you are not in your position?
— This is not a question for me, but for the club bosses. I have been working as a coach for more than 15 years and I always do it with full dedication. I repeat once again: I don't think we showed bad football. Although we have problems with finishing in recent matches.
— What is the reason for Dynamo's poor performance in attack at the beginning of this year?
— We are constantly working to improve our game both in attack and defense. Yes, we have not been very successful at the opponents' goal in recent matches, and this is what we keep working on. Now, for various reasons, we are not in the best shape: we do not have a large group of players. Somewhere we are unlucky. We must continue to work hard, be united and strong.
