Slavisa Jokanovic: I hope that Zakharyan and Varela will be available for the start of the season

— Lokomotiv started the game better than us, but gradually we began to play aggressively, put more pressure on the opponent and levelled the situation on the pitch. For the pre-season, today’s football quality was quite acceptable.

— Arsen Zakharyan and Guillermo Varela didn't have much playing time. What are their current conditions?

— They didn't train much with the team, so we decided not to take risks and controlled their playing time. I hope that they will be available for the start of the Premier League. All the other players are healthy.

— In a week you are going to face Rostov. What do you know about this team and its head coach Valery Karpin?

— Valery Karpin and Viktor Onopko, who assists him at Rostov, have been my rivals in the Spanish championship for many years. A few years ago, we crossed paths with Karpin in Doha. We have some days to analyze the opponent and prepare well for the match. I am sure that Valery will do the same.
