Slavisa Jokanovic: Our efforts were far enough to pick up points in this match

Dynamo Moscow head coach Slavisa Jokanovic answered journalists' questions after the game with Sochi (1:2).

— We started the game poorly and conceded two early goals. Sochi players were faster than us and looked better in tackles. Then we woke up, scored one goal and tried to come from behind in the second half. However, our efforts were far enough to pick up points today. Sochi played better and deserved this win.

— Why did the team start the encounter so badly and leave so much space in the penalty area?

— We left free zones not only in the penalty area. We faced a very experienced opponent, and we had to work hard, be faster, but everything did not go the way I expected. It was not only about free zones. We also lacked energy, desire and dedication. I was surprised by such a play.

— Why did you decide on a triple substitution during the break?

— It proceeded from logic – the team did not play well enough, and we were looking for a way to improve the game.

— Why is Diego Laxalt's recovery taking so long?

— Yesterday he took part in the first training session with the team. He could have spent some time on the pitch today, but I decided to add one more striker.

— Can you evaluate the club’s transfer campaign and the actions of the newcomers in today's match?

— Today we urgently fielded Dasa and Normann, because the team needed to find a way out of the current situation. They have been training with the team for only a few days and played well today. We will have a little more time to prepare for the Cup match than last time, and maybe there will be newcomers in the starting eleven. But I will not go for such drastic changes, as it was in the match with Rostov.
