Slavisa Jokanovic: I am sure that the team will look better in next matches

— I'm always happy, when we win. We played 120 minutes after six hard training sessions in three days. Our players were not fresh enough, but the team fought, created good chances and looked well in transitions. We are preparing for the restart of the season, and we have six more friendly matches to test our readiness. I am sure that the team will look better in the future than it did today.

— Was it your initiative to play in such an unusual format? What did it give to the team?

— Yes, we needed this kind of format so that all the players could spend 60 minutes on the pitch. The team will play the next match in the same format, and the final encounter of this training camp will include two halves of 75 minutes each.

— If we talk about the second part of the championship, will Dynamo be able to catch up with Zenit?

— I don't think about it. All my thoughts are linked with the next training session. We need to move forward step by step. I don't work in a betting shop, so I can't answer your question. I want my team to progress and at the end of the season we will see our final place. Of course, we are looking forward to be on top, and anything can happen. But Zenit have a big advantage. They don't lose often, so their perspective is preferable.

— Fedor Smolov missed several clear chances in the first half. Will you pay attention to these episodes? Has Konstantin Tyukavin increased his chances to pick the spot in the starting line-up?

— Tyukavin was and will be an important player for our team. He will definitely continue to grow, and I am sure that in the next 10 years he will play a big role in the Russian national team. There is no need for putting additional pressure on him now. It is much more important to me how my team finishes the match, and not who comes out in the starting line-up. Smolov and Tyukavin are both very important players for Dynamo, and both will be on the pitch.

— Do you plan to use Tyukavin and Smolov simultaneously in the attack in the next matches?

— We have played several matches with two forwards, so this formation is not new for us. We know what to expect from it. The team still has a lot of friendlies to play, so we'll consider this option maybe.

— Are you satisfied with Arsen Zakharyan's work at the training camp? Do talks about his future affect him?

— I think there will always be a lot of talks around him, so he needs to be strong. Now he is an important player for Dynamo, and he should be focused on training. He always works hard in training, so there are no problems with that. We will help him to fulfil his potential.

— At the end of the calendar year, there were talks that the RFU would move to the Asian Football Confederation. What was your reaction?

— I think Russia is a European country that should take part in European competitions. Unfortunately, when I was a player, I went through a similar situation (the Yugoslav sides were suspended from participating in European tournaments). I hope that all this will end quickly and we will be able to compete in European competitions again.
