Sandro Schwarz: «We have laid good foundation that we can use in the future»

— I would like to thank all Dynamo staff for their help and support during the seven months that I have been coaching the team. I would like to express my special gratitude to the club management for their trust. We achieved good results with our young team and we are optimistic about the future.

I am glad that we finished the season with 50 points because only once in the last 10 years Dynamo earned more points. We have laid a good foundation that we can use in the future. The team have recognizable style of play. We understand how we will achieve our goals.

I would like to thank media representatives who covered our matches throughout the season.

We earned a victory against a very tough opponent. In the first half, we didn’t show our football. And I am proud of my guys who were able to turn the game around in the second half. We deserved this win. All players showed character and made our fans’ day.

— What did you tell the team at halftime that they flourished in the second half?

— During the break, we asked guys to play more intensively, increase their pace and tackle immediately after the ball loss. The team have to make transitions using vertical passes. But we didn't make any drastic changes to the game.

— How did two substitutions change the game?

— We wanted to freshen up the game by releasing Grulev and N'Jie on the pitch. These players met our expectations. And Vyacheslav perfectly converted his chances into goals.

— There are rumours that you could become Schalke next head coach. How can you comment on this?

— I can responsibly state that I didn’t negotiate with anyone else and stay focused on Dynamo. I am an ambitious coach and I want my team to develop. Now we all have to recharge our batteries and start the new season well prepared.
