Vyacheslav Grulev: We picked up one point against Rostov – now we are ready to move forward

— In the first half, Dynamo let Rostov create a lot of chances. Then you started well the second half. The team was close to score, Moro hit the post with the header. Makarov had a good chance, but you conceded a goal. How would you describe the match in general?

— It turned out to be a very difficult game. I don't know what the reason was. We didn't manage to show our football. We spent more time in defense, including the midfielders. In this regard, we were not good in transitions. We must pay tribute to Rostov, they looked solid today. We picked up one point – now we are ready to move forward.

— Is it possible to say that the conceded goal was the key, because Dynamo played better up to that moment?

— We have probably sat back. We defended with a large number of players, but still conceded the goal. This is football. We needed to meet the opponent higher and try to build on our play.

— Was your goal Fedor Smolov’s merit?

— Fedya beat a couple of Rostov defenders and made me an assist.

— It is clear that there are difficulties with centre-backs at Dynamo. How hard was it to play taking these circumstances into consideration?

— You saw everything. We will analyze this match. Globally, I think our team defended well.
